Today, the meaning of freedom is rather distorted. Our culture in particular makes us believe that we have immense freedom. Johann W. von Goethe said that no one is a greater prisoner than the one who mistakenly believes he is free.
Freedom is a characteristic of the inner being – the consciousness. When I’m not angry, I am fearless, carefree and cheerful, only then am I truly free. A wise man once said that a person is truly free when he conquers all his fears.
Meditation on inner light and sound truly helps us become freer and more independent. It helps us liberate ourselves from unpleasant thoughts and emotions, like anger, fear, grudges, hatred, sadness, greed and attachment to people and things.
